We check the exact edition
An Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Extrait or named flanker can have its own composition. We keep those editions separate and check the concentration, year and perfumer when the sources identify them. Bottle sizes are not separate perfumes. A missing fact stays unknown rather than being filled from a nearby version.
Where the facts come from
We use the house’s pages and edition-specific references. Sources and their checks are retained with the catalogue data. When accounts disagree, we look for the exact edition and keep the uncertainty visible where it affects the choice. A changed note list does not by itself prove a reformulation date.
Notes describe a scent, not a recipe
Rice, rain, suede or silk can be scent ideas or constructed accords. A listed flower or wood also does not establish a particular natural extract in the formula. Search may group related note families, while each perfume keeps the precise listed name. An absent note is not proof that no similar material is used.
What a comparison tells you
We explain useful differences in the published compositions and give you a pair to sample. Shared notes do not measure scent similarity, and concentration alone does not prove longevity or projection. We do not invent wear tests, ratings or a guaranteed substitute for another perfume. Personal impressions belong in your own wear notes.
How the texts and translations are made
Descriptions are written for Aromatop rather than copied from shop blurbs or reviews. AI helps with drafting and translation; edition facts, claims and links are checked against the retained sources. Each language should read naturally, with proper perfume names kept intact. We do not present this process as independent testing by native-speaking reviewers.
Corrections and updates
Confirmed corrections update the affected facts, descriptions and links together. We preserve catalogue identities so saved perfumes and personal records keep working. An update date refers to a substantial change, not a new claim that the perfume was tested. If a detail matters to your purchase, also check the exact label and the maker’s current information.
