What does this note smell like?
Warm amber-like balsam with woody, leathery depth and a rounded resinous sweetness. Labdanum can soften dry incense and woods or give bright flowers a darker foundation. It refers to resinous material from cistus, rather than fossil amber or animal ambergris. The shared plant connection does not make a gum-derived labdanum extract identical to a cistus oil distilled from branches and leaves.
