John Varvatos
XX Elixir
Bergamot and red ginger lead into rum, rose and black iris, with tonka, labdanum and leather below.
What does it smell like?
Davana and violet leaf sharpen Elixir’s bergamot-and-red-ginger opening. Its heart joins rum with Damascus rose, black iris and geranium; the contrast is boozy and floral. Tonka bean, cistus labdanum, cedarwood and latigo leather give the base its darker character, separating Elixir from the roasted-coffee direction of XX Intense.
