What does this note smell like?
Dry aromatic shrub warmth with a pine-like lift, balsamic resin and possible woody or leathery edges. Cistus can connect fresh herbs and citrus to a deeper resinous base. Documented materials include distilled branches and leaves as well as solvent extracts, so the note is not simply the smell of a flower. Compare it with labdanum’s rounded gum-resin image without assuming the two names specify the same material.
