Bitter orange
What does this note smell like?
An aromatic citrus-peel image with a drier, more bitter edge than rounded sweet orange, useful for giving sweet fruit or flowers tension. Bitter-orange peel materials can also have fruity-floral sweetness; bitter does not mean a one-dimensional harsh smell. The fruit is distinct from orange-blossom or neroli flowers and the leafy-twig image of petitgrain. A regional name does not identify every perfume’s oil grade, harvest or extraction method.
