Pepper
What does this note smell like?
Dry, lively spice with an aromatic, sometimes citrus-like lift over woody warmth. Pepper can cut through soft flowers or sweet woods with a sharper contour rather than cinnamon-like sweetness. Black-pepper oil offers one reference, but this general name does not identify every pepper as Piper nigrum: pink pepper, citrus-scented Sichuan relatives and chilli are separate named materials or impressions.
