Estragole
What does this note smell like?
A clear anise-like, sweet-spicy accent evokes tarragon, basil and a hint of liquorice. Estragole is methyl chavicol, a named molecule rather than a whole herb oil; it is distinct from anethole and can lift dark resins with an aromatic edge.
