Note combinations
Bergamot and vetiver
Citrus peel meets the rooty, woody side of vetiver. Look at what joins them: flowers, spices and resins can take this pairing in very different directions.
Bergamot
Bright citrus peel with a dry bitter edge, soft floral brightness and a green, aromatic side. Bergamot can connect a citrus opening to tea, herbs or flowers without orange’s rounded juice-like sweetness. A documented bergamot oil is expressed from fresh fruit peel; the note alone does not identify the oil grade or formula.
Vetiver
Dry roots, cut grass and earth, with woody, sometimes smoky facets. Vetiver can anchor bright citrus or watery fruit without vanilla-like sweetness. It feels more root-like and linear than the dark leafy image of patchouli; origin and processing can shift its balance, so smokiness is not guaranteed.
