Notes
Indonesian patchouli leaf
What does this note smell like?
A patchouli-leaf impression evokes aromatic foliage, dark wood and damp earth, sometimes with a cool camphor-like edge. It gives sweet fruit and flowers a grounded counterweight and links them to resins. Compared with vetiver’s dry root character, the emphasis is leafier; the plant-part name alone does not specify an extraction. Indonesia is the named origin; it does not fix the balance of leaf, wood and earth in a perfume.
