Black basil
What does this note smell like?
A basil-leaf image with green aromatic bite, a peppery edge and possible anise-like sweetness. It can give citrus a more herbal outline or sharpen soft woods without the sugary warmth of cinnamon. Black retains the published qualifier; it does not identify a single purple-leaved cultivar, holy basil or a charred ingredient. Neither the colour word nor the herb’s darker image establishes a stronger scent or a particular extract.
