Parfumeurs du Monde

About the house

Parfumeurs du Monde brings together several perfumers, so the place names do not describe one fixed house style. Terre de soleil suggests dry herbs, fig tree and hay; Tjärn puts cool melon against tobacco and forest woods.

The softer side runs from Brin de Peau’s mimosa and honeyed hay to Makeda’s iris powder and vanilla. Nam Chaa combines tea and ginger; Val d’Orcia suggests a woody cappuccino, and Petite fumée brings peppery palo santo and incense. Osmanthus noir is fruitier but also more unusual, with apricot, olive and wine lees.

Üjan has a green citrus-floral character: litsea cubeba, mandora and blackcurrant bud brighten rose, neroli and jasmine above katafray, myrrh, vetiver, oud and smoky aetoxylon. Petite fumée takes a spicier woody direction with cardamom, peppers and palo santo. Aetoxylon and oud remain separate notes, rather than two names for one ingredient.

For a rose with an herbal and resinous frame, Les fleurs de la pluie links green citron shoots and lemon petitgrain to Taif rose, Artemisia and the separately named Anthemis deserti. Its desert lavender stays distinct from literal sand, while myrrh, frankincense and labdanum support the flowers. Terre de Soleil's fig tree, oregano and hay give a useful contrast within the same herbal-to-balsamic direction.
