Indonesian nutmeg

What does this note smell like?

Warm, dry spice with rounded woody and powdery facets, a peppery lift and sometimes a bright citrus edge. Like freshly grated nutmeg, it can connect citrus to amber or dry woods without adding vanilla-like sweetness. The spice is the seed reference; mace is its surrounding aril, a separate spice. A documented Indonesian Myristica fragrans oil illustrates the family, not every perfume’s formula. The regional heading preserves a published qualifier. The family comparison is not a measured regional aroma or proof of a particular crop, species, supplier or batch in the perfume.
