Notes
Elemi essential oil
What does this note smell like?
A bright, zesty and peppery elemi-oil image, useful for carrying citrus into resinous woods. One documented Philippine oil is steam-distilled from gum, rather than pressed from a fruit peel or extracted from leaves. This explains an essential-oil form, not the exact plant, supplier or grade in every perfume. The oil is distinct from a solvent-extracted resinoid; “essential” does not promise greater purity or wear.
