Notes
Cedarwood (China)
What does this note smell like?
One Chinese cedarwood oil is woody and smoky: Robertet names Cupressus funebris and steam-distils its wood. This gives a useful contrast to creamier sandalwood and shows why a trade name containing “cedar” need not mean Cedrus. It is a material example, not proof that every Chinese-cedar perfume uses that species, process or exact supplier grade.
