About the house
Serge Lutens came to perfume through beauty, photography and his work with Shiseido, establishing his own house in 2000. His compositions often turn on an unexpected detail: in Fleurs d’Oranger, cumin adds a spicy contrast to orange blossom, jasmine and tuberose.
Un Bois Vanille pairs vanilla with woods, coconut milk, beeswax and licorice. Jeux de Peau explores wheat and milk with licorice, coconut, sandalwood and apricot: both have edible associations, but one centres on vanilla and the other on grain. La Religieuse sets jasmine among musk, incense and civet, while Chergui brings together hay, tobacco, amber and incense. The range includes creamy sweetness, powdery flowers and drier, smoky warmth.
