Roelen offers three sharply different textures. The Door begins with smoke, saffron and black tea, then puts burnt-match and industrial-glue accords beside palo santo. Its smokiness has a deliberately industrial edge. Flower Boy places rose oil and marigold with hinoki, then birch tar and tobacco: the darker texture surrounds flowers rather than glue-like notes. Crystal Haze is the softer counterpoint, with orange and tuberose leading to cotton-fabric accords, musk and vanilla. Smoke, tarred flowers and soft fabric give these three their separate characters.
