Penhaligon's
About the house
Penhaligon’s London story began with William Penhaligon, a hairdresser and perfumer working on Jermyn Street in 1870. Places and characters inspire many of the names, while the perfumes themselves range from spiced woods to powdery flowers.
Cairo and Babylon share vanilla, cypriol and woods; rose is prominent in Cairo, spices in Babylon. The Blazing Mister Sam combines spice with tobacco and vanilla. Changing Constance takes a sweeter, salted-caramel direction. Among the florals, The Favourite features violet, mimosa and iris; Solaris pairs flowers with vanilla; The Coveted Duchess Rose focuses on rose and woods. The Cut offers a contrasting blend of herbs and woods.
